The opening ceremony (Kick-Off Meeting) of the Twinning Project SR 14 IPA IB AG 02 17 “Strengthening capacities for implementation and further development of the legislative framework in the field of organic production and food quality policy” funded by the European Union, was officially held on 26th April 2018.

The Member States (Italy, France and Austria) shall provide experts, trainings and best practices to Beneficiary institutions in order to increase their level of competency in creating and implementing agrarian policy in the organic production and food quality scheme.

During the implementation of the project, there will be additional trainings for veterinary, phytosanitary and agricultural inspections for the official controls in the field of food quality policy. The training program will include members of the Negotiating Team for Chapter 11 in the field of food quality policy, as well as representatives of agricultural advisory and expert services with the aim of providing technical assistance to producers for the registration and production of products with geographical indications. The project also envisages the development of a catalog for the promotion of agricultural and food products under quality scheme of Serbia.

The project was officially introduced by high level official of the Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of the Republic of Serbia, Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, Embassies of the Republic of Italy, France and Austria, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Finance.
