Twinning Project ‘Fight against organized crime–(Human trafficking, Drugs trafficking, Illicit arms trafficking, Financial investigation)’

The opening ceremony for the Twinning Project ’Fight against organized crime – (Human trafficking, Drugs trafficking, Illicit arms trafficking, Financial investigation)’ , which have aim to improve capacities of the State bodies of Republic of Serbia in their fight against all kinds of criminal activities, was held in Belgrade.

The objective of the project, administered by the Ministry of Interior, is to contribute to Serbian’s efforts in harmonization of national legislation within the home affairs sector in line with EU standards and the acquis.

The project is funded by the European Union within IPA 2013 program with an amount of 1,425,000 Euros, while the National co-financing is 75,000 Euros, for the realization of the project.
The purpose of the twinning project is to strengthen the law enforcement institutions within the investigations and prosecution of organized crime perpetrators, to build capacities of investigation techniques in solving the cases of organized crime and all the other kinds of criminal activities, as well as improvement of working efficiency of physical-chemical and toxicological laboratories of the Ministry of Interior in accordance with the EU standards.


The beneficiaries are Service for combating organized crime, National Crime Technical Center, Criminal Investigations Directorate, General Police Directorate, Ministry of Interior and Public Prosecutor Office. The foreign partners of the project are the Federal Republic of Germany, represented by the Ministry of Interior of Germany, represented by German Federal Criminal Police Office, as the younger partners on the project- the Republic of France, represented by Ministry of Interior of France, Central Directorate of the Judicial Police, International Cooperation Section, as well as the Republic of Slovenia, represented by the Ministry of Interior, General Police Directorate, Directorate of Criminal Police.

 All the relevant institutions of the Republic of Serbia, that are in charged the fight against organized crime will be the beneficiaries the project.

The representative of the Ministry of Interior Vladimir Rebić, Acting General Police Director, Nicolas Bisel – Head of Operations Sector at the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia, Axel Ditmann, the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to Serbia, Christine Moro, Ambassador of the Republic of France, and Mateja Norcic Stamcar, the High Representative of Slovenian Embassy were speaking at the opening ceremony.
